Milford Secures Affordable Housing Moratorium

After long last and a lot of hard work by multiple people, the city of Milford has secured a four-year moratorium on affordable housing developments beginning Tuesday, Aug. 20, Mayor Ben Blake announced at a press conference at City Hall.
Blake used the word “great” on several occasions to announce the news. “It’s with great pride, great pleasure and great enthusiasm” that Milford has secured a four-year moratorium on affordable housing applications, which continues until Aug. 20, 2023, and it could be extended another five years too, the Mayor said.
“This is a huge win for the city of Milford,” Blake said while adding that the moratorium prevents developers from circumventing local zoning laws.
