Milford Police Union announce their endorsement of Mayor Ben Blake. “The Executive Board of the Milford Police Union, Local 899 believes that Ben Blake’s experience as Mayor and his proven balanced approach to resolving the concerns of this community, over his past term, have contributed to this endorsement for reelection as mayor. We look forward to a continuing our productive working relationship with Mayor Blake in the future and remain very confident in his ability to lead this city further into the future”, according to a statement released by the 110 members of Milford PD.
Mayoral candidates express different points of view at debate via Milford Mirror
In his opening remarks, Blake said Milford is in better shape today than when he became mayor two years ago. “That’s partly because each day I work very hard for the city I love,” he said.
Blake told debate-goers that he’s re-negotiated bonds to save money, streamlined government operations, increased recycling, backed lean budgets and supported needed school renovations in the past two years. He said the building permitting process is about to take a drastic turn toward the better and he’s taken steps to lower energy costs. read more

As Mayor, Ben has enacted a series of cost cutting initiatives and streamlined City operations to make Milford government more effective and efficient. He has implemented comprehensive conservation improvements within City buildings and infrastructure that have yielded significant energy savings for taxpayers. Most notably, Ben has led Milford through Storm Sandy and Blizzard Nemo, and has received widespread praise and appreciation for his management during two of the worst natural disasters in the City’s history.
